I’ve now reached the top half of NBA small forwards in the league, although this list doesn’t include the best of the best. Here are the next ten on my rankings: 20. Andre Iguodala, Golden State Warriors Stats: 9.3 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 4.2 APG Iguodala was supposed to be the replacement for Allen Iverson in Philadelphia, but their skill sets were so different that it made it impossible to expect that. Iguodala does it all, … Continue reading
Here are the next 10 small forwards in the league, according to my rankings: 30. Xavier Henry, Los Angeles Lakers Stats: 10.0 PPG, 2.7 RPG, 1.2 APG Henry played just a little more than half of a season last year, mainly coming off the bench for the injury-riddled Lakers. He had the best season of his career though, just reaching the double digit PPG mark and recording career highs in both RPG and APG. It … Continue reading
After going through the lists for both point guards and shooting guards, I know move to the front court and begin the top 40 list of small forwards in the league. This list arguably is the most top heavy, having many top 10 overall players in the top 10. The bottom of the list isn’t exactly the greatest though, containing mostly backups and underachievers. But what else would you expect? That’s why it’s the bottom … Continue reading
This section of the list finalizes my top 40 shooting guards in the league, and these guys were the best of the best last year. I was actually a bit surprised with some of them, but there are a lot of young, promising guys in this list. Here they are: 10. Lance Stephenson, Indiana Pacers Stats: 13.8 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 4.6 APG Stephenson is likely the most controversial player on this list, not because of … Continue reading
Here’s the next group of guys, who I would classify as some of the best in the game, but not quite elite. Many of these guys are still on the rise and could push their way into that top ten in a few years though. Here they are: 20. Dion Waiters, Cleveland Cavaliers Stats: 15.9 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 3.0 APG Waiters has been the talk of trade rumors recently that could land Kevin Love in … Continue reading
30. Rodney Stuckey, Detroit Pistons Stats: 13.9 PPG, 2.3 RPG, 2.1 APG Stuckey has spent much of his career as the starting SG for the Pistons, but last year was a bit different. He mainly came off the bench in a sixth man role, providing scoring and the occasional rebound and assist. There’s nothing too special about his game other than his ability to score. While it wasn’t his best season in terms of PPG, he … Continue reading
After completing the full list of top 40 point guards in the league, I now move over to the other member of the backcourt: shooting guards. While there are probably a lot more “huge” names at the PG position, there are still tons of talented players that play SG. For now though, I’m going to look at the bottom 10 of this top 40 list of shooting guards. Here they are: 40. Marcus Thornton, Brooklyn … Continue reading
This is the group of guys that stand out as the best point guards in the league. I think it’s fair to say that all of them performed on an elite level this past year. Some of the guys in this list might surprise you, especially the order, but stats don’t often lie. Here’s what the top ten looks like: 10. Eric Bledsoe, Phoenix Suns Stats: 17.7 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 5.5 APG Bledsoe is probably … Continue reading
We’re now moving into the section of point guards that are very good, but not quite at the elite level yet. These are the guys that you’d be very happy to have on your team. But, at the same time, all teams are looking for an elite guy. Unfortunately, these guys weren’t quite at that level last year. Here are #11-20: 20. Deron Williams, Brooklyn Nets Stats: 14.3 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 6.1 APG For what … Continue reading
My last post included my rankings for the #31-40 point guards in the NBA (according to me), and this one will include the next ten. The last group of players included many starters, proving that they were clearly very inefficient in their play to be included below some backups. The biggest surprise to some might be Derrick Rose at #32, but if you don’t understand why I did that, just read my last post and … Continue reading
