Recap and analysis of the Sixers picks in 2015 NBA draft

I’m not going to lie, nothing seemed to go the Sixers’ way last night during the NBA draft. I can’t help but feel a bit underwhelmed with what they came away with. The Lakers threw a wrench into their plans when they selected Ohio State point guard D’Angelo Russell with the second pick in the draft, despite many rumors that the Lakers were “locked in” at drafting Jahlil Okafor. Here’s a recap and analysis of … Continue reading

What moves the Sixers could make on draft night

For 82 games, Sixers fans have to sit through the season already knowing the outcome of the season: that they’re going to be one of the worst teams in the league. Two days of the entire calendar year, though, Sixers fans can come together and have something real to be excited about: the lottery selection and the NBA draft. Everyone prayed to the lottery gods for #OneSixEleven to happen, but only one of their first … Continue reading

Joel Embiid headlines Sixers’ 2014 draft class

If Joel Embiid turns out to be a stud, then GM Sam Hinkie nailed this draft. I was worried that they would get too cute and start wheeling and dealing more than necessary, but they made just the right amount of moves on draft night. Many experts and insiders had the Sixers taking Dante Exum with the 3rd pick in the draft, but when it came down to it, it just didn’t make sense. They … Continue reading

Looking back at the Sixers’ last five drafts

The 2014 NBA Draft is in a few hours, and the Sixers have the most draft picks out of any team. They have the 3rd pick in the draft, and have been rumored to trade up to the 1st pick. There have been so many rumors though that it’s hard to tell what’s going to happen and who’s going to take who. Instead of focusing on that for now, I’m going to look back at … Continue reading

Sixers NBA Draft preview: who they might target

People have been talking about this draft class for over a year now. It is expected to have some of the best talent in a draft in the last decade, possibly rivaling the 2003 NBA Draft that had LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, and David West all in the first round. Except this year’s could even be better. It features guys like Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Dante Exum, Joel Embiid, and Marcus … Continue reading

Where did the Sixers get all their draft picks?

The Sixers have the most draft picks in this year’s NBA Draft with 7. Two 1st rounders and 5 2nd rounders. To put that into perspective, there were some NFL teams that had less picks than them, and there are seven rounds in the NFL. The Sixers are stacked with opportunities to rebuild their team with basically whoever they want, and they might even get a third top 10 pick. All those 2nd rounders could … Continue reading

Holiday out, Noel and Carter-Williams in

If you’re a Sixers fan, then last night during Draft Day was certainly an interesting night. There were already rumors that they were going to trade away somebody such as Evan Turner to mix things up, but not many people saw coming what they actually did. Instead, they traded Jrue Holiday for newly drafted C Nerlens Noel and a 2014 first round draft pick. In the long term, this could be an interesting decision. In … Continue reading
