Most people are going to remember the Eagles 2015 draft as how they weren’t able to get Marcus Mariota, and that has the potential to haunt them for a while. But, there is no way the draft was seen as “Mariota or bust.” The Eagles left Chicago with a solid group of players, some of which should make an immediate impact, a quality that has lacked in many rookies over the years. Here’s a look … Continue reading
The first round of the 2015 NFL Draft passed without very many exciting or surprising twists. There were only two trades and the Eagles weren’t part of either. They decided to stick it out and pick No. 20, where they were originally slated. They decided to go with USC WR Nelson Agholor, a player who should immediately make an impact on a team with a thin wide receiver group. But what does this pick mean … Continue reading
Nothing has been more anticipated in the offseason for Eagles fans than the 2015 NFL Draft. It will finally end the debate of whether or not Chip Kelly really will do whatever it takes to trade up to get Oregon QB Marcus Mariota, one of the most coveted players in the entire draft. It seems likely that the Eagles would trade up to the No. 2 pick in the draft in order to select him, … Continue reading
Well, after weeks of essentially nothing important happening with the Eagles, something newsworthy finally happened: the release of the 2015 NFL schedules. The Eagles schedule was officially released at 8 p.m. along with the rest of the NFL, although there were a few rumors going around about various matchups that would and would not occur, especially regarding the NFL opening game, which eventually went to the Steelers and Patriots. The highlights of the schedule are … Continue reading
Just a couple more weeks of “nothing is actually going to happen until the NFL Draft.” Until then, we’re still getting updates on many players from the roster, including an interesting one from ILB DeMeco Ryans and his rehab, as well as an update on the Browns’ interest in Sam Bradford. Here are some links from around web: 1. Eagles trade rumors: Browns now longer interested in Sam Bradford By Brandon Lee Gowten, via Bleeding … Continue reading
It seems like other than Sam Bradford and Marcus Mariota, no one else is in the running for the starting quarterback position for the Eagles next year. It seems a little silly that everyone is considering a guy that’s likely not even going to be drafted by them, but because of that Oregon connection, there’s still a very real chance Chip Kelly lands the former Duck. But I was thinking about this recently: would either … Continue reading
The two things heating up are draft discussions and the relationship of former Eagles RB LeSean McCoy. While there is a large group of players the Eagles could end up drafting, it’s impossible to completely rule out the possibility that they end up trading up for Marcus Mariota. Some sources say they’ll definitely try while some say there’s no way it’ll happen. On the other hot topic, there are now rumors that McCoy threatened to … Continue reading
A whole lot can change from now until the beginning of the regular season, but it’s no doubt that the group of safeties that the Eagles have on the current roster is not a great one. According to the Eagles official roster, they have six safeties right now: Malcolm Jenkins, Earl Wolff, Chris Maragos, Chris Prosinski, Jerome Couplin and Ed Reynolds. They also have guys like Nolan Carroll and Jaylen Watkins who, hypothetically, could be moved … Continue reading
After what seemed like an eternity between transactions, the Eagles made their first signing in a while by picking up veteran WR Miles Austin. They also restructured the contract of DeMeco Ryans, suggesting he’s here to stay for this year. The draft nears closer and closer and the Eagles are beginning to target certain players or do private workouts, but this update will focus on the players actually on the team. Here are some links … Continue reading
Some of my favorite players on the Eagles will not be with them in 2015, meaning I need to update my mental list of my favorite players on the actual roster. They’ve made so many moves that it’s hard to pick (since it would be weird to pick players who haven’t even played a down for them yet), but this is my attempt at making a list. A few of my least favorite players have … Continue reading
