Here’s the next group of guys, who I would classify as some of the best in the game, but not quite elite. Many of these guys are still on the rise and could push their way into that top ten in a few years though. Here they are: 20. Dion Waiters, Cleveland Cavaliers Stats: 15.9 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 3.0 APG Waiters has been the talk of trade rumors recently that could land Kevin Love in … Continue reading
30. Rodney Stuckey, Detroit Pistons Stats: 13.9 PPG, 2.3 RPG, 2.1 APG Stuckey has spent much of his career as the starting SG for the Pistons, but last year was a bit different. He mainly came off the bench in a sixth man role, providing scoring and the occasional rebound and assist. There’s nothing too special about his game other than his ability to score. While it wasn’t his best season in terms of PPG, he … Continue reading
After completing the full list of top 40 point guards in the league, I now move over to the other member of the backcourt: shooting guards. While there are probably a lot more “huge” names at the PG position, there are still tons of talented players that play SG. For now though, I’m going to look at the bottom 10 of this top 40 list of shooting guards. Here they are: 40. Marcus Thornton, Brooklyn … Continue reading
This is the group of guys that stand out as the best point guards in the league. I think it’s fair to say that all of them performed on an elite level this past year. Some of the guys in this list might surprise you, especially the order, but stats don’t often lie. Here’s what the top ten looks like: 10. Eric Bledsoe, Phoenix Suns Stats: 17.7 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 5.5 APG Bledsoe is probably … Continue reading
We’re now moving into the section of point guards that are very good, but not quite at the elite level yet. These are the guys that you’d be very happy to have on your team. But, at the same time, all teams are looking for an elite guy. Unfortunately, these guys weren’t quite at that level last year. Here are #11-20: 20. Deron Williams, Brooklyn Nets Stats: 14.3 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 6.1 APG For what … Continue reading
My last post included my rankings for the #31-40 point guards in the NBA (according to me), and this one will include the next ten. The last group of players included many starters, proving that they were clearly very inefficient in their play to be included below some backups. The biggest surprise to some might be Derrick Rose at #32, but if you don’t understand why I did that, just read my last post and … Continue reading
This is the beginning of a very long series that will delve into the top 40 NBA players at each position. Now, ranking players can be extremely controversial because you’re likely to have a different overall ranking list than 99.9% of people in the world, but I’m going to do it anyway. I based my rankings largely off of statistics (the best way to judge a player), using PPG, RPG, APG, BPG, SPG, and PER … Continue reading
They were doing so well…why’d it have to end? I guess all good things have to come to an end at some point. After losing last night to the Bulls by a score of 79-68, they will be unable to defend their Summer League Championship that they won in Orlando one week ago. But one championship is enough for now, and definitely a step in the right direction. They have to let other teams win … Continue reading
After winning the championship and going 4-1 overall in the Orlando Summer League, the Sixers move onto the Las Vegas Summer League with hopes to fare in a similar fashion. Believe me, they’re not trying to win a championship, they’re just trying to get a look at a bunch of new guys. If they win in the process, then great for them. But it’s not really a necessity. 15 members of the roster for this section … Continue reading
The championships have already begun to pour in for the Sixers. Ok, so it was just one summer league championship, but it still counts somewhere. The Sixers finished the Orlando Summer League with a 4-1 record and a league-high 29 points. Their championship win came over the Grizzlies decisively by a score of 91-75. Their only loss came in their first game against the hometown Magic by just a 6 point margin. Not bad at … Continue reading
