The Saints may have a better record going into this Saturday’s game, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re the better team. The Eagles have had an amazing season compared to what they were expected to do. I’m just happy that they got to the playoffs, but I know that they have a really good shot at the Saints this weekend. Here are the many reasons why the Eagles have a great chance at winning. … Continue reading
There is no way in the world that the Eagles only deserved to have 2 people selected to the Pro Bowl this year. This is one of the most talented teams they have had in a while, yet only two people get selected as some of the best at their position? I just don’t understand that. The Pro Bowl is becoming less and less of a relevant idea and an interest in the NFL and … Continue reading
While it definitely wasn’t pretty, the Eagles defeated the Cowboys 24-22 to win the NFC East Championship and advance to the playoffs as the 3rd seed in the conference. While the Eagles were always winning, they never had more than a 10 point lead and often let the Cowboys get dangerously close to taking the lead. The Cowboys actually gained more yards by the end of the game, but the Eagles’ ability to stop the … Continue reading
Now that Tony Romo has been declared out for the rest of the season, it made the NFC East Championship a lot more interesting. Well, maybe not more interesting for the Cowboys, but much more for the Eagles. Does Romo being out actually help Dallas? Or is losing their franchise QB this late in the season too much for them? There are many scenarios that would explain both a win or loss for the Eagles … Continue reading
When Chip Kelly was asked throughout the day whether he would sit his starters, he likely assumed people meant right from the beginning of the game. Well, it turned out that the Eagles were winning by so much that the backups did indeed come in at the end. The Eagles completely destroyed the Bears on Sunday Night Football, defeating them 54-11. It was the second most points the Bears had given up in franchise history, … Continue reading
After missing the past 7 games due to a foot injury, PG Michael Carter-Williams returned with a double-double to help lead the Sixers to their 8th win of the season. He contributed 15 points and 10 assists, as well as 3 steals in 35 minutes. But the real X-factor in this game was Evan Turner, who not only had 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists, but also had the game-winning layup. He drove to … Continue reading
One of the most shocking things about the way the NFL season has shaped up is that the Eagles actually have a winning record and have a real shot at making the playoffs. If you had told me that this would happen four months ago, I’d probably just laugh at you. On paper, the Eagles looked like they would be entering a rebuilding year after getting a new Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Defensive Coordinator. … Continue reading
While it would be great to beat the Bears on national TV on Sunday Night Football, it really doesn’t matter. The Eagles are in a situation in which beating them would likely only provide bragging rights. It does pose as a good challenge since the Bears are a likely playoff team, but the Eagles can still control their own destiny and make the playoffs even with a loss in this game. And it’s all thanks … Continue reading
Almost nothing went right for the Eagles on Sunday. They may have scored 30 points, but they gave up 48, more than twice the amount that they were giving up at a maximum in the past eight games. Their defense was pathetic from the start, reverting back to the way they played in the first few games of the season. The cornerbacks were especially bad, making Matt Cassel look like a Hall of Fame player. … Continue reading
Despite scoring only 6 points in the first three quarters combined, their 28 points in the fourth quarter were enough to lead the Eagles to their 8th victory of the season. After a scoreless first quarter, the Eagles didn’t even have positive yards. But they finished the game with 478 yards and 34 points, both very high numbers, especially since the game was basically played in a blizzard. Things were not looking good after the … Continue reading
