A whole lot can change from now until the beginning of the regular season, but it’s no doubt that the group of safeties that the Eagles have on the current roster is not a great one. According to the Eagles official roster, they have six safeties right now: Malcolm Jenkins, Earl Wolff, Chris Maragos, Chris Prosinski, Jerome Couplin and Ed Reynolds. They also have guys like Nolan Carroll and Jaylen Watkins who, hypothetically, could be moved … Continue reading →

After what seemed like an eternity between transactions, the Eagles made their first signing in a while by picking up veteran WR Miles Austin. They also restructured the contract of DeMeco Ryans, suggesting he’s here to stay for this year. The draft nears closer and closer and the Eagles are beginning to target certain players or do private workouts, but this update will focus on the players actually on the team. Here are some links … Continue reading →

The Eagles haven’t made an actual roster move in over a week, so now it’s time to take a look at who would be starters and who is left as backups. Clearly, their roster isn’t complete since they still have the draft in about a month, but it doesn’t mean we can’t take a look at some updates of some current players on the roster and what their status is at the moment. Also, here’s … Continue reading →

Pretty much every household name from the Andy Reid Era is gone from the Philadelphia Eagles. DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, LeSean McCoy, Nick Foles, Trent Cole and Todd Herremans are all gone. Will G Evan Mathis be added to that list this offseason? It was reported a couple weeks ago that Mathis was on the trading block, a move that baffled me and almost everyone else related to the Eagles. A bunch of teams apparently showed … Continue reading →

The craziness of free agency has passed, and now the smoke has settled. The Eagles are left with a much different roster already than last year, and I expect more moves to be made during the draft. To be honest, I’m not really sure if the roster has gotten better since the beginning of the offseason, but nonetheless, it’s important to assess where the Eagles are in terms of their roster. Here are some links … Continue reading →

There’s absolutely no doubt that this offseason has been one of the craziest in Eagles history. Chip Kelly was given the reins at the beginning of the offseason to essentially do whatever he wants, and he’s doing exactly that. He’s getting rid of players that were the key players of the Andy Reid Era and finding a new group of guys that are “perfect fits” for his system, no matter what position. No player on … Continue reading →

It didn’t fully occur to me until yesterday, but is it possible that Chip Kelly is scaring people away with the way he’s trying to build his team? I mean, he’s let go of DeSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy and Jeremy Maclin in the past two seasons, all of whom are Pro Bowl caliber talents. He’s replaced them with cheaper, younger guys (in some cases), but some people questions his “scheme over players” ideology. Here’s what … Continue reading →

The Eagles definitely had the busiest day in yesterday among the entire NFL, signing people, missing out on signing people, and apparently being linked to trades with other people. It is absolutely crazy, and free agency hasn’t even started yet. Yesterday was part of the period of time in which teams can talk with free agents and work out deals, but nothing becomes official until Tuesday when free agency actually starts. There’s a lot to … Continue reading →

The Eagles dropped a bomb on the entire world this past week when they decided to trade their star running back LeSean McCoy to the Bills for LB Kiko Alonso. While that trade technically can’t go through until next Tuesday, it’s likely going to remain intact and change the Eagles’ offense completely. Chip Kelly wants to take this team to the next level, but he’s not worried about doing it in an unorthodox way. Here … Continue reading →

Chip Kelly was wearing a Sam Hinkie costume yesterday as he made a series of big moves to the roster, the biggest of which was trading the team’s star running back LeSean McCoy to the Bills for LB Kiko Alonso. It’s been a little while since the deal actually happened and I still haven’t fully comprehended what they’ve done. I can’t say I’m 100% surprised that they dumped him, but the inner Eagles fan in me … Continue reading →
