The 2006 draft was nothing to write home about, and actually, was one of Reid’s weaker drafts among his series of already bad drafts. I now move on to the 2005 draft, which featured more picks than usual and actually a few talented players that stuck around on the team. Here is some quick info: Important notes Total picks: 11 (5 offense, 6 defense) Notable picks: Mike Patterson, Todd Herremans, Trent Cole Players remaining on team: 0 1. DT … Continue reading →

It’s no secret that Andy Reid struggled to select a good draft class, but some of the classes I’ve analyzed over the past couple days have been straight up terrible. While the 2006 draft wasn’t a disaster, it still wasn’t super strong. Here are some notes: Important notes Total picks: 8 (3 offense, 5 defense) Notable picks: Brodrick Bunkley, Winston Justice, Jason Avant Players remaining on team: 0 1. DT Brodrick Bunkley Bunkley may not have lived up to … Continue reading →

Out of five drafts that I’ve analyzed, all of which were by Andy Reid, only one of them was worthwhile. Ironically, it was also his last draft with the team. Was the 2007 draft any better? Hah, yeah right. It was another draft without a first round pick, which already hurt their chances of getting talented players. Get ready for another bad draft. Here is some quick info on it: Important notes Total picks: 8 (4 … Continue reading →

Four drafts down and there’s only been one that was a B grade or higher. The 2009 draft I originally gave a C, then bumped up to a C+ after thinking about it, but it still was nothing amazing. Now I’ll take a look at the 2008 draft, the last time the Eagles didn’t have a first round pick. Important notes Total picks: 10 (4 offense, 6 defense) Notable picks: Trevor Laws, DeSean Jackson, King Dunlap Players … Continue reading →

I’ve looked back at the Eagles’ drafts from 2010-2012 and now move on to the 2009 draft. The 2012 draft was great, earning a B+ grade in my opinion after three years in the NFL. But, the 2010 and 2011 drafts were so bad that it kept the franchise from advancing forward, and I gave both drafts a D. The 2009 draft is a little bit in the middle…here are some facts: Important notes Total … Continue reading →

After looking back at the 2011 and 2012 draft classes, which were vastly different, I now move on to the 2010 class. Like the 2011 class, this one included a lot of people. Here are some details about the draft: Important notes Total picks: 13 (4 offense, 9 defense) Notable picks: Brandon Graham, Nate Allen, Riley Cooper Players remaining on team: 2 1. LB Brandon Graham The Eagles shocked a lot of people when they … Continue reading →

This continues my series of articles analyzing past Eagles draft classes. Yesterday I took a look at the 2012 draft, which was actually a great one. It was also Andy Reid‘s last draft with the Eagles and probably one of his best ever. Now I’ll take a look at the 2011 draft, which by all means, is far worse than that of 2012. Important notes Total picks: 11 (5 offense, 5 defense, 1 special teams) … Continue reading →

It seems that the consensus among NFL fans and writers that at least three years need to pass by before an accurate judgment can be passed on a team’s draft class. It’s impossible to grade a group of rookies after just one year in the league, and it’s even harder to grade them before they step on the field. While I naturally feel inclined to give an immediate grade of the Eagles’ 2015 draft because … Continue reading →
