It baffles me that the Sixers still have not selected a coach. They went from basically “having” Brett Brown, the former Spurs assistant, as their head coach to still in the process of interviewing back to the idea that Brown was now the favorite again. Whatever they’re doing, they really need to figure it out soon or next season will be even more of a disaster, and I didn’t think that could possibly happen. But … Continue reading
Rumors are flying all over the place that the Sixers are purposely “tanking” in order to get a top pick in next year’s draft. While it’s impossible to say that for sure before the season has even started, it’s looking like they’re moving along a path of rebuilding. After trading Jrue Holiday, they cleared up a lot of cap space. I thought maybe they’d try to use that to sign a top free agent, but … Continue reading
I think this is the biggest question now among all Sixers fans. A couple days ago I speculated that the starting lineup would be C Nerlens Noel, PF Spencer Hawes, SF Thad Young, SG Evan Turner, and PG Michael Carter-Williams. But this could easily go a whole different direction if Noel isn’t healthy by the start of the season. Then we might see this lineup: C Hawes, PF Thad Young, SF Turner, SG Damien Wilkins, … Continue reading
When I heard that Brett Brown was going to be hired as the new head coach for the Sixers, my first reaction was “who is this guy?” Ok, so it’s not like he’s a random guy, and my knowledge of basketball coaches isn’t extraordinary, but I don’t think many fans immediately knew who this guy was and were excited. But maybe they should be excited. He doesn’t have any NBA head coaching experience, but he … Continue reading
If you’re a Sixers fan, then last night during Draft Day was certainly an interesting night. There were already rumors that they were going to trade away somebody such as Evan Turner to mix things up, but not many people saw coming what they actually did. Instead, they traded Jrue Holiday for newly drafted C Nerlens Noel and a 2014 first round draft pick. In the long term, this could be an interesting decision. In … Continue reading
At this point in the offseason, I’m having trouble identifying a guy as the guaranteed starting quarterback for the Eagles come the regular season. While this is common among many teams, there’s a problem with the reason why there’s a QB controversy. While some teams have to deal with two or three really good players fighting for that one starting position, I don’t see one specific guy that would be a good option to start … Continue reading
Monday marked the end of Andy Reid’s infamous 14-year tenure as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. I say infamous because more people probably complained about him more than cheered him. But considering he lasted 14 years with a team in general is remarkable considering most coaches last about three and then move on to somewhere else. The Eagles had some ups and downs as he was coach, but many people overlook the good … Continue reading
The Eagles won a game. “Wow, great for them” says most people, but this is an especially important feat considering it was the first time they had won in two months. They were riding an eight game losing streak, but now they have bounced back. Well, at least a little bit. A win against the Buccaneers isn’t the greatest win in the world, but a win is a win. It was the Eagles’ fourth, and … Continue reading
The last time the Eagles went 2-0 to start the season, they made it to the Super Bowl (2004). While this may seem like a dumb statistic, it is definitely one to consider. Are the Eagles really a Super Bowl-caliber team? I mean, they barely beat the Browns a week ago. But here they are, beating another Super Bowl contender in the Baltimore Ravens in their home opener. That’s something to get excited about. After … Continue reading
Words cannot describe how anxious and excited I was for the Eagles to begin the regular season today. They went undefeated in the preseason and many new guys looked promising and talented. But after watching that game, I almost wish it had never happened. That was easily the worst NFL game that I have ever watched. Despite the awfulness of it, the Eagles still got the win 17-16 over the Browns in the Dog Pound. … Continue reading
